Q: Can I license just the app or just the website?
A: The Scoremeister suite of products can be scaled up or down depending on your needs. The variable components in the suite are the iPhone app, the Android app and the website. Each works with the underlying engine that drives Scoremeister, so you can choose to utilize any combination or all of these products.
Q: Will Scoremeister work with my current website?
A: Scoremeister is its own stand-alone app and/or website, so in a sense it will work with any existing website. It doesn’t become part of your website, rather it serves as a one-stop destination for the sport or sports you are covering and promoting.
Q: How do I get my content into Scoremeister?
A: Scoremeister provides automated tools that will gather information and data for you. Once an account is established, you configure some basic settings telling Scoremeister where your data is and how often to go get it. Then Scoremeister does the heavy lifting while you carry on with your day-to-day operation. If you wish to enter content into Scoremeister manually, you can use the control panel to enter content whenever you please.
Q: My station currently uses VPS’s NewsTicker software for our crawl. Can Scoremeister mine that data so I don’t have to enter scores into two systems?
A: Yes. Scoremeister was developed knowing that stations enter data into systems for on-air broadcasts. NewsTicker produces an XML feed which Scoremeister can read and interpret, doing the data mining on its own. Regardless of your platform, if you have an XML feed, Scoremeister can read it and save you the trouble of entering data twice. Just do your part, and Scoremeister will take care of the rest.
Q: My station uses WorldNow for our website and video archives. Do I have to upload video to Scoremeister as well?
A: No. Scoremeister will link to your videos on any third-party platform. Whether you use WorldNow, Fox Interactive Media, Inergize, Internet Broadcasting, Tribune Digital, Calais, Synapse Multimedia or anyone else, you will upload your videos as you would any news story, and Scoremeister will locate them. There is the option to include a widget on your website that you configure from your primary website’s control panel to allow for pre-roll ads. This can be embedded into the Scoremeister website to make the integration smoother.
Q: Do I get to design how the website looks?
A: Scoremeister allows for several options to customize the look and feel of the website. Certain elements need to appear in certain places, but as for branding, we ensure that the site looks as much like your on-air brand as possible.
Q: Is there a mobile solution?
A: There are several mobile components to Scoremeister. You get to wrap your own custom domain name around the website, and when visitors visit the site from their phone, they get a streamlined version of the website. Additionally, we are developing apps for iPhone and Android devices to better help with name recognition, brand loyalty and customer ease-of-use. All of these components allow Scoremeister to go with your viewers wherever they go.
Q: Can I include story content on the site or am I limited to just scores and video?
A: Scoremeister has its own content section for stories and lists. The system allows for you to hierarchically organize stories in a parent-child relationship. You can publish content immediately upon saving or schedule it for publication at a future date. Group stories into custom categories for easy searching. Create lists for inclusion within or next to stories and on the homepage as teasers.
Q: What about making some money off of this site and mobile apps by selling ads?
A: Scoremeister allows you complete control of how you want to structure your ad sales and placement. Creative Minds, Inc. does not place its own ads on your site, rather your sales team gets to establish all of the rules: ad size, placement, duration, etc. This flexibility allows you to treat the ads on the site as sponsor enhancements or a full-fledged revenue generating opportunity.
